Paul Trynka, who is an authority on Levi's, thinks those are the correct age, but doesn't see anything to suggest that they were made by Levi Strauss or Jacob Davis rather than by Boss of the Road or some other early maker. There is a superfuture thread discussing that pair and another pair sold by the same seller (it is a little confusing because it started with an auction that was cancelled and relisted): http://supertalk.superfuture.com/showthread.php?t=19566
Now if the winning bidder were business minded, they would lend these to a Japanese or European repro company and let them duplicate these with all of their "flaws". I have a repro pair of Lee that were copied from a pair found on the floor of a 100 year old barn. All the period repairs were copied, rusty rivets, etc. Even the orange wrappers that were found in the pockets!
I was going to post this link, but didn't have the time.
