Of the two jackets that I've been waiting for the last five months, one turned out to be a complete and utter disaster while the other surpassed all my expectations and ended up being one of the nicest jackets I've seen.
This Levi's had been a theoretical Grail piece for me for quite a few years now, though I never thought I'd see one, let alone own it - at least not for under a grand. I've had a photo of it saved and occasionally dreamed about having it redone by another maker to the exact same specs.
No need for that turns out as the jacket arrived today and it indeed is the sherpa trucker to end all sherpa truckers.

This jacket is from a so called Levi's 2016 Vintage Heritage collection, made entirely in Italy.
►Material & construction...
Outer shell is made from a substantial & thick, super soft goatskin. Nice texture & feel to it. It's been... Well, I wouldn't say artificially distressed but rather treated with a conditioner at places, namely shoulders, that gives it this worn in look.
I think it looks okay, not overdone and I can easily have the entire jacket treated for a more uniform look. But I personally like it as it is.
But in any case, seems like a good, sturdy leather that ought to deal with any bad weather just fine.
Main attraction of course is the sheepskin lining. This isn't fleece but an actual massive shearling! Don't suppose I'll ever need anything warmer than this, even while visiting Winnipeg again.
The sleeves are fully lined with a heavily padded quilt which ought to keep up with the shearling just fine. It's that neat sort of quilt that's either green or red, depending on the angle you look at it.
Other than that, it's a pretty straightforward Type-3 based trucker. Sadly, the only two pockets are the chest patch pockets and I wouldn't mind the hand-warmers at all but I don't suppose I should complain, not about a jacket as nice as this.
Not much to be said about the construction. It's flawlessly made but then again, usually all the higher-end Levi's stuff is.
►Cut & Fit...
Since no expenses were spared on the material, I'm guessing Levi's wanted to make sure this jacket will serve a purpose outside of fashion trends. Which is to say, the pattern is just right.
Not overly fitted but by not over-sized by any definition. Bit on the boxy side but with a shearling lining this thick, anything else would've proven to be disastrous.
This is a size L and it fits me fine on a T-shirt, perfect on layers, which is how I intend to wear it. Not like you can use this jacket on any temperature over 15C, anyway.
Sleeves are very long, 26" inches and the back is 24.5". Perfect, IMO.
I also need to note how extremely comfortable the jacket is! No pulling on the sleeves, shoulders, it allows for a full range of motion, etc. - something that's in my experience rarely seen. It's a pure every day wearer in which you can practically live in.
This is exactly the vibe I'm getting off that jacket. Kinda unheard of in this day and age, but it's as if Levi's decided to restore some of it's former glory by building us a true & proper piece of outerwear.
So no wonder I've immediately fallen in love with this jacket, the second I unboxed it and I right now I can't imagine any reason why I'd want to part with it. If I've ever seen a pure 10/10 jacket, this one's it.
