Hi, everyone. I'm busy trying to get a home bar up and running and I need some inspiration. Anyone have a basement bar, tiki patio, garage tavern, etc. they want to share? Let's see some pics!

I’ve been wanting to convert a spare bedroom into a pipe & cigar bar room. So I’m not looking for anything big. And it would have to be without waterlines & plumbing. Something small, so I’ve been toying with converting an old entertainment center. They should be a dime a dozen & cheaper than an armoire.

What are you planning?

Great idea Jack, I had an old TV cabinet/ armoire that I used at the old house.

We recently bought another house, I made an upstairs room into my very own Cantina.
I have really enjoyed it.

I really like your new room Rusty, but you had a nice setup with that upright TV cabinet. The one I pictured above is for sale locally but the asking price is high because it has a hand rubbed paint job. Some of the oak grain shows thru the hand rubbed black & the contrast is nice. And the black top is abrasive resistant paint. I could probably have a cabinet builder come in & frame up what I have in mind about as cheap. What gets expensive for a cigar bar is the air purifier. Something along the lines of what I would like to have :

Cool stuff, guys! I like what y’all are doing. The cantina idea let’s you role with the Southwest flavor, and the cigar bar thing has its own identity too.

At first I wanted to have a sort of Adventurer’s Club feel, but then I discovered this weird bar at an antique store. I think it’s leaning more towards a kind of MCM rock’n’roll feel so I might go all in on that.

My cousin built a garage bar separate from his house. He & his buddy’s are NASCAR fans so he hosts them once a wk to watch the race on 3 TV’s. We’re separated apart by a couple hundred miles so I’ve never been there so I asked him to send me some pics. I’ll post a couple. As you can see he’s into the bar lights & atmospher.

Here’s a pic. Haven’t really started decorating around it yet. It had this ugly cow print but I covered it in leopard. I was really wanting to create a tiki vibe but I think it skews a bit more MCM, which is also cool.

Definitely MCM. You will need a cool looking Art Deco cocktail shaker to display on it.

I got the idea for my bar after visiting The Black Bird Saloon in Cerrillos New Mexico a few years ago.
He had just opened and we enjoyed the visit. He explained why he wanted the bar and it seems like he has done well with it.

Local guy builds these bars. View from the side makes me think it could be top heavy leaning from the front.

Also found this. I like the way the drawer front drops down for working space. It’s heavy, being made from particle board or composit.

You may be right. But it looks really cool.
I also like the cabinet. The work space is an added plus!

We're in the process of moving, so the bar is not stocked. Mirror on top with stirrers and olive picks. There's also an orange light in the top. Not great condition, but as picked up at an antique store in Huntsville, AL.

Kidney shaped display table could make a nice bottle cabinet with plenty of bottle height.
