As long as we're resurrecting this thread...
IMHO, this is one of the nicest jackets Schott leather has released this year (among others) The Vandals 568 jacket.
Slimmer fit, top sleeves zips, the appointments like back yoke are nicely done; not over the top. I wasn't going to buy anymore leather jackets but, I made the mistake of stopping in the Schott store my last visit to NYC. Soon as I tried this on, I was sold! Super nice!

Really like that one. Fit is perfect. Like the back yoke and the kidney panel design, has the vibe of an old Hercules. I'll have to see if Scott has any of these still in the store when I go to NYC next month...

The jacket reminds me of the 50s Hercules and Oakbrook, but a bit longer and narrower at the shoulders. Very nice.

Resurrecting the thread? Cool, hope y'all don't mind but I'm gonna have some fun with some of the jackets and bikes I have been addicted too!!! I would add that I no longer ride but still enjoy the memories. Let Harley go at age 74.

The jacket reminds me of the 50s Hercules and Oakbrook, but a bit longer and narrower at the shoulders. Very nice.

IIRC they were sent an Oakbrook to study as well as to follow reference photos of the film character who was in a vintage Hercules, which is why it lands in between those.

You know, the Oakbrook and the Hercules appear to have been made by the same company. Both have almost the same leather, and just about everything about the cut and construction is the very same. However, the oakbrook has a thicker and heavier leather. The only difference is the shoulder wider shoulders on the Hercules. I also have a 60s oakbrook not as nice as the 50s production, but I love it. The cut is a bit longer and it fits great.

Good to know! I was under the mistaken impression that the Oakbrook was a drop in construction. (I've been after a Hercules for a long time, and nice examples are largely held for ransom!)

So was I... Got the Oabrook at a Pomona car parts swat meet. The label on the Oakbrook was a little different from the one I was wearing that day. However, the one for sale was a beast of a jacket with a sweet mouton. Great jackets, sadly sometimes you need to see them in the flesh to appreciate how well they are put together.

There were multiple makers for the Oakbrook and Hercules D pocket jackets so it really depends on which one you’re talking about. Rough Wear and California Sportswear were the main two makers.

Here’s my late 50’s Hercules in steerhide made by California Sportswear.

This one below is the exact Oakbrook that Tom Hardy wore in the movie. Very late 50’s or early 60’s and made in steerhide also by California Sportswear.

The leather is exactly the same. One isn’t thicker than the other. Very nice steerhide. Only difference in the cut is the Oakbrook isn’t as tapered but both are V shaped, have wide shoulders and are short.

I agree. I have both of those. I also have several others made by different makers and come with different labels.

Those jackets look great for their age. Original belts? Will remake the mouton on my oakbrook. For the Herc, I do not have any. Can you please share the Hercules mouton pattern? Here is a link for the thread and PDF file for the graph paper. Here is the link for the thread:https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/leather-jacket-fur-mouton-collar-attachment-pattern.108468/
