Let's See That Tree!

I have a 6 foot aluminum Christmas tree in the basement that I can't put up because my 1 1/2 year old kitty can't stay away from it. It's like a big glittering shiney beacon that she must try to eat. She is completely obssesed with it and can't stay away from it. It's like Golem and his precious.

So we put up a smaller fake tree. I would love to have a real tree but our allergies can't handle it and the cats would be climbing all over it.

An aluminum tree in 80s Vegas. Gorgeous, remind me to take you somewhere where the pine scent is from actual trees. :D

What are we talking about here, Ivory Snow detergent? Hmmmm.....

Ivory Snow is really easy...just add water to a a good amount of the powder until it's thick (if it's too wet, it will drip all over your carpet, and if it's too dry, it clumps too much). I usually whisk it all together, then apply with a paintbrush. Easy-peasy!

I love seeing everyone's trees--they're so personal aren't they?

Here's mine--I usually put it in the dining room but I decided to try it in the living room this year. I wasn't sure about the new space so this one is a bit shorter than I'd usually get--still cute though. You can see it from the street too, which is a nice plus.

Some of the ornaments--mostly I've got an odd mix of blown glass and felt but somehow it works:

And, of course, it isn't Christmas without Sugarpuss O'Shea on your tree!

Here Lincsong.... Merry Kitschmas, my tree from last year. Yes, I put lights on my tree, call me a rebel or perhaps I just like to live dangerously?! The tree also sits in a musical revolving stand and has a color wheel.

closer and closer

we have our trees out of the boxes and assembled seem to be missing one though...hmmm, thats what happens when forced to move quickly when the owner of the house we were renting last year lost thier house. Oldest daughter wanted to make her own dinner and for some unknown reason decided to put her finger in the pan when cooking her egg tonight(one thing after another with her lately, accident prone just like her momma lol) so we didn't decorate today, that's tomorrow, so pics of trees will be tomorrow...finially!!

I gotta move into my own place real soon. :rage: My soon-to-be ex bought a purple Seuss-like tree and is planning on decorating it in the next day or so. Talk about a technicolor headache ... there's blue shag carpeting, she just painted the darn walls orange, and now a neon purple tree. I'll take a pic and post it when she's done.

Well she did say that part of the reason she fell out of love with me is that she thinks I'm boring and old-fashioned. That may be so, but I'm not blind ... yet. ;)

Francaise ... love the photo! If you're doing trees like that, how 'bout renting me a room? :D

Faythe, my dear ... trees? As in 'more than one?'

Can I come over to your house and curl up in front of the fireplace? I promise I won't spill my hot cocoa. This looks so cozy and beautiful! Love the candles especially.

We're still debating a tree. We usually get a pound-puppy variety, a Charlie Brown runt that needs a home...but our newest cat is plumb crazy. He only has 3 legs, but he uses 'em overtime to make up for the missing fourth. Visions of disaster are dancing in our heads...

They are so cute! My hubby collected rolli's as well as other WWII cameras for awhile and I would love to get these for our tree. Where did you find them?

Ummm....yeah....I think she somehow seems to have time warped back to the 70's, thats the worst old fashioned to have gotten...eeekkkk the color schemes from back then.....I remember them so well, when we moved out this way (cali first and then here)from the east we found places that were still stuck in the color schemes, sad, so sad.

Yes, trees. 2 of. I have 'em book ending the entertainment center. I square I had set up 3 of 'em last year like a little forrest in the extra room we had, the kids agree we had three. My mom said we had 2, but I can't find the darn photos. We had a much bigger house. But when you have to move fast, things get shoved places and you cant find them you need them, oh well. 2 is cool. They get decorated tonight after kids and mum get back from church and my sis and myself join up with the rest of them for family day.
One tree for the kids and one for me, maybe I'll klet my mom help. Thats why we had three last year, darn it. lol lol :p

(no sis doesn't live here to, Sunday is just the day the whole family gets together for yelling and screaming, murder and mayhem:p , chaos)

Yikes--I like color, but that sounds a bit...much! You're more than welcome to come up and see mine, Richard!

And here's the tree for this year. No the most flattering of me, but, well, it's a good photo of the decorations!
