Lesco leather jacket brown half belt talon zip medium

I find these on eBay occasionally and am intrigued by the similarity in style to a Schott 'multipanel motorcycle jacket' which I believe was also a 50's 60's jacket. Does anyone know who Lesco were and what happened to them and why this and other styles were similar to those of Schott.
