Hi folks. I've been reading this forum since the beginning of this summer, but only recently signed up. So, this is post numero uno for me.

I was thinking about purchasing one of Legendary USA's Trojan Horse Horsehide motorcycle jackets, and I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on or experiences with Legendary USA or that jacket in particular that might be helpful before I make the purchase. It looks like the people here know what they're talking about, so I figured it'd be a good place to ask. The price is a bit more than I'm used to spending on a jacket, so any input, advise, etc, with quality, customer service, sizing, etc. would be greatly appreciated. :)

Hello Eric
Welcome to the Lounge. I'm a newby as well.
I have one of Ledgendary USA's horsehide '30s Schott MC jackets that I use for most of my MC riding. The HH is a little lighter weight than other company's hvy FQHH...but also much more comfortable. I think all of their classic style HH MC jackets are made by Schott. I have several MC jackets..but this one is my favorite. The Trojan is another great style made of the same HorseHide. I would highly recommend it. BTW...sometimes Legendary USA lists "sale items" on Ebay at substancial discount. That's where I bought mine.

Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to post a review of mine once I get it in. (of course, it would help if I stopped procrastinating and actually ordered the thing).

I had a Lost Worlds Trojan and loved it, but the sleeves were a tad too short. A friend of mine got a Legendary USA Trojan last year and I gotta say it was the equal of the Lost Worlds in terms of quality.

Well, I got the jacket in, and I'm pretty happy with it. The leather is stiff and heavy without being ridiculously so, and the grain is pretty close to uniform through out the jacket, with imperfections in the leather being minor and few. The red quilted lining is a nice touch, and the belt buckle for the jacket is really spiff. The removable mouton collar is nice too, and totally changes the look of the jacket when its on. The fit is spot on for me.

My only complaint is that with the grommets used for the actual belt holes, the backsides of a couple of the grommets didn't completely catch the canvas interior belt lining. The grommets themselves are secure in the belt, but the canvas on the underside of the belt isn't completely pinned beneath the grommets for the entire 360 degrees around on a couple of them. No biggie. All in all, I'm quite pleased with the purchase. Its the first leather jacket I've ever bought that wasn't sized S,M,L,XL, and I never realized what a difference having a more exact fit made with a jacket that style. It looks like a motorcycle jacket without looking like every other motorcycle jacket out there. It looks great, and as it feels as great to wear as it does right out of the box, I'm really looking forward to when its broken in a bit.

Hi Erik
Glad that you liked the jacket. I'm sometimes a little reluctant to recommend a jacket Co. With different body types out there...a jacket that fits me well, may be disasterous for someone else. However,I was pretty sure the quality would be there. I'd send Legendary an email about the grommets. Customer Service should take care of it.

Actually, I sent the jacket back after speaking with a customer service rep because of the belt and also the stitching of the quilted pattern on the lining had begun to come undone on one row near the inside chest pocket. Figure that sorta thing is gonna happen over time based on other jackets I've had with similar linings, but with it happening after less than a week, it kinda bugged me.

I just got it back, and it looks like they either replaced the belt with a new one or totally switched out the grommets. Now there are washers on the back side of the grommets, which should keep everything how it should be. And they stitched over where the stitching in the lining had come undone. I don't want to jinx myself by saying this, but it looks like all's well that ends well. Now I can get to enjoying the jacket again (its getting cold out!).

How I wish I could get one of these, but they've been discontinued due to 'poor sales'. I just recently found their site and am disappointed.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of a size 44 in need of a good home, let me know!
