My point about HH was that it’s a different product number yet still in Schott’s format, so it’s not a copy/paste of the old page.

So we’ve got what looks to be pictures of a Schott jacket, a Schott-like item number and the history of Schott producing THIS particular model for Legendary. If they have in fact switched suppliers, it seems as though they could end up in a bit of a mess for not advertising the actual product you’d be receiving after spending over $900. The mystery of it all has me even more anxious to get it. To think a few days ago we were concerned about trying to order the correct size. Now I don’t even know what’s going to be in the box

Just went over both Legendary and Schott web pages. I do think this is simply a brand mis management done by their marketing team. There are no D pockets on Schott offering right now, maybe they think it will dilute the Schott Perfecto (the first moto jacket) brand. Funny thing is Legendary has the Beck brand, but vest only? And Schott has actual racer jackets that aren’t being marketed under the Beck name. Some dots are just not connecting.

I do believe those who signed up for this Legendary D pocket will get a great jacket. Hoping the best for you guys, and can’t wait to see them in a few weeks. Lead time says one to three weeks.

That was a typo on my part. If you see the next paragraph, I identify the jackets correctly. I was going to get a 689H myself.
It's hard enough to sort through the changing (miss)information coming from the official sources on this... Just trying to keep things straight.

The private label Legendary jackets have never been available on Schott’s website. US Wings is another company whose jackets are made by Schott; you can’t buy those directly from Schott. This is just the nature of private label goods. You can’t go to Caruso and try to buy Ralph Lauren Purple Label or RRL suits.

When Schott does offer a D-pocket under its own name, it’s not the Buco design. It tends to be either the original Perfecto aviator or the 1950s Perfecto D-pocket design.

Legendary owning the Beck name in the US doesn’t mean anything either way, except when they get Schott to reproduce vintage Beck-Perfecto jackets. Like the Japanese brands that own old American brand names, they’ll use it both for repro goods and for other items as a brand. (Real McCoys Buco t-shirts, for example, or Toys McCoy Beck wallets etc.)

I have the Legendary BECK vest (and it’s awesome). For some reason I had Reed on the brain and mentioned that brand incorrectly (possibly adding confusion to the thread). i just looked in every pocket for any potential clues about the manufacturer but there was nothing more than the main Northeaster Flying Togs label. made in USA flag and size tag.

If the jacket resembles the IG post….bless the easy return policy (even if only for a change).
If the jacket matches the product shots, there’s nothing to fear.

I will say this, I don’t recall Schott being named directly as the maker of previous versions (at one point there was a brown version as well).
But none of the older versions looked anything like what is quite clearly a budget build in the IG post either. It’s weird. I am popping the corn, feet up and for once, not the only guy with his balls over a fire watching this thread.

It’s cozy in this side. LOL.

There was a line on the product page originally that said “Manufactured to our "Legendary" specifications by a famous New Jersey motorcycle apparel company rich in biker jacket history since 1928” but it has since been removed.

Perhaps my eyes are deceiving me but new Legendary home page picture appears to just be an enhanced version of the Hillside D-pocket jacket which sells for $641.

Yeah that’s been the homepage and Instagram photo since the announcement. Have you reached out about this? I would but I don’t want to seem to be the only one asking questions (I got the sizing clarified) so I figure we can spread it amongst ourselves lol.

Ahh,.. I see it now. The ad photo jacket is different than the item page photo jacket. On the item page the jacket looked like the one produced by Schott years ago, D pocket, coin pocket, belt loops, and sleeve zip. But the ad photo jacket is the Hillside one... It could be as simple as a artwork mistake, or could be as dark as changing vendors.

Like Aloysius said, just ask Legendary, which photo is accurate. Ad photo or item page photos.

Left is Hillside jacket, Right is Schott. Very confusing...

I sent an email expressing my concerns about the pictures which seemed to be marketing two different jackets as the Black Stallion. I told them that this was (at best) confusing and I was now uneasy about the purchase and requested a refund to spare us both the time and expense of a probable return.

If I was incorrect about anything in my email, I’m sure they’ll let me know in an effort to preserve the sale. I’ve bought three items from them recently so we at least have a little history. I’d love it if I was way off in my assessment.

This jacket could very well meet everyone’s expectations and I could be missing out. If it is in fact a Hillside and they’re the ones that made my Beck vest (very probable), I think people will be happy with the quality of the horsehide. I guess I’m just having a little trouble getting past the fact that a Hillside D-pocket (as created for themselves) sells for $641. This one could be above and beyond what they do for their normal price point or it could be an overpay in the $900 range….who knows.

I’ll obviously stay tuned to the thread and pass along any pertinent updates.

How similar is this to your vest? The features seem to match up.

I would assume the Legendary items have better/more expensive leather, considering the stated thickness, but I just would not want the Hill Side design, point blank.

Legendary branded items are refundable so I might wait it out as well, but I don't know that I'd be comfortable telling non-enthusiast friends I recommended this to not to cancel.
They told me straight up they only do store credit. I'll be Guinea pig for the loungers lol

Edit: Hillside is not from NJ, or am I mistaken? Thought they're somewhere in the South

They told you that specifically about returning this jacket?

I did some searching and they seem to be Florida based.

Legendary and Schott are NJ based.

I attached a screenshot above, the context was I want to buy two sizes and they told me to just order one because otherwise it's just store credit

I saw the screenshot but they quoted the part of the FAQ about returning non-Legendary products so right before that it says otherwise. Possibly the employee got confused.
