Look at it! It's a giant bunch of ties. Eight of 'em. $50 for all.
Condition of these ties varies. Some have small spots, some have loose thread in the back, and at least one has insect damage that can be seen in the photos.

You noticed, didn't you. There are only seven ties above. Well, buster, congratulations on that keen sense of observation.

"But Lefty," you say, "I'm not ready for a tie, much less eight of them. My feet are cold and ugly. All of my shoes are black or brown. I need heavy, stylish footwear with a little color."

Stuart McGuire gunboats $50

I picked these up at a thrift store and spent a lot of time repeatedly conditioning them, keeping them in trees (removed for these photos and not included), and shining them up. They don't look new, but who wants new? They look worn, with just enough creasing and scaring to give them that great color variation it takes years to develop.

As for the name, search Stuart McGuire on the Lounge and you'll find that they're of fantastic quality. A few dollars on a resole, and you'll have a pair of shoes that I consider to be so far beyond the Allen Edmonds that are so popular these days that you may actually begin to cry.


Inside length: I got 11" on the nose, which sits right between a US size 10 and a 10 1/2.

What's the ballpark size on the shoes? And are they oxblood in color or the almost cherry red they appear in some of those photos?

Just running a tape measure across the sole, they measure 12.25" from heel to toe. I wear a 12 and these are nowhere near my size. For the moment, I'm guessing they're around a 10, but I'll look up what I should be measuring and post more specific and accurate information soon.

As to color, the photos are a little brighter than the shoes, but they're certainly not the deep color of worn shell (not that I have any reason to believe that these are shell). They are more red than that, but certainly not gaudy.
