On the second jacket I see sign "R" below its size "50". Is that what you were discussing about? Or it is the sign "MR" above the size, on the label?
It was and it is hard to find large sizes Storm Rider jackets online, so I guess these are good choices I made. The first one is listed as 3xl(54 inches chest measurement or 137cm, that is from armpit to armpit and then doubled). It will fit me ok this period, because it matches the dimensions of favorite jacket I wear nowadays. The other one is something like 2xl(50 inch chest measurements, or 127cm). I wish to buy this one for near future , cause I plan seriously to loose weight. The first one is two pockets version, and the second one is 4 pockets, they are listed as 80's models. The website says their company guarantees of its genuine products. What do you think of these jackets? Btw, how tall are you guys? I am 5.9feet(183cm), but with fat figure this period, so I guess the length of the jackets, 28inch or about 71cm measured from the center of the neck to the bottom of the garment, is also fine. Because I think the shorter length denim jackets, 25 inch, shown nowadays, will definitely not look ok even on not so fat but big men.

You may have seen Clint Eastwood wearing a Storm Rider in "Any Which Way But Loose" and photographs of Steve McQueen and Paul Newman wearing them.

Today I watched the 1979 Robert Redford movie "The Electric Horseman" and he wore a Lee Storm Rider throughout 2/3 of it. Pretty good movie, by the way.

I'm glad that this thread has just been revived. Can anyone help me date this Storm Rider. I just bought it from eBay for the princely sum of £2 ( just over $3). It doesn't really matter to me that it might not be too old as I want it for everyday wear and it will tide me over until I find something of a better vintage I've searched FL and used Google but I cannot find when Lee used the red pocket logo. The description says he "thinks" it is 80's production but all online pics I have found have the usual Lee pocket logo.
Any help anyone?

What are the buttons on waist of the jacket like (not sure what they are called - they are used to make the waist smaller). On the older jackets they are like buttons - not metal studs like on the front of the jacket.

It doesn't look like any Lee Storm Rider jacket that I've seen before. The "Lee" label on the left breast pocket is different and it has lined cuffs. Is it a corduroy collar?

Never seen one with those cuffs. The shape seems very straight. Could it be a barn coat?

It arrived today, if I can fix the camera problem I will try and upload more pics. The rear buttons are blue buttons as opposed to studs, the collar and cuffs are corduroy lined and the inside is blanket lined with the sleeves poly lined. In person it looks and fits like any other denim jacket I have owned and is unlike my other barn/chore coat.

EDIT: The only reference to lined cuffs I have found online is the quote below taken from a blog.

I've been watching "The Rifleman" on Saturday mornings on AMC. Chuck Connors character Lucas McCain wears a Lee Storm Rider in series from time to time.
