Leather Western Shirt Arrives

I can’t believe I’m saying this. I actually like it. With a blunt cut hem this would be really close to an unlined trucker. With wear and tear this should be very cool and surprisingly, probably easier to wear than 90% of leather jackets.

Interesting that you say this. I have looked at leather shirts in the past but would inquire about a straight cut bottom.

I dig the hemline, i guess the ease of wearing comes from the shoulder to sleeve construction, after browsing some pictures this sleeve style looks less wrinkly when worn a little off shoulder, when you wear it right on the shoulder it will pinches and bunches around the underarm.

I really like it! It actually looks so much more tame than I'd imagined it ever would. In fact, half the jackets posted here look more outrageous than this shirt. You seriously can wear this anywhere.

I was thinking about getting one in CXL earlier this year but decided it might not be a wise idea. Now I'm second guessing my decision.
Yes. I agree. Something like this has definitely moved up a few notches on my To Do list.
Not only did I originally think it’s not that big a deal and I liked the idea of something tougher but cooler to wear for summer riding, but now I am thinking, for sunny summer days a version in a grey color would be even more perfect.

Earlier today I was putting some conditioner on some of my old Cascades. One is black and one is grey. Laying them out in the backyard, it was quite striking how much of a temperature difference there was on the surface as they lay in the sun.

I think they also make this in brown but a dark brown would not make that much of a difference.
Grey would be great. Maybe a few vents. Hmm, I’ll probably have to design this and figure out how to have it made myself.

I still like what he got. I like the black over brown horsehide idea.
Depending on where you live, a green light for fall and winter for sure.

I wouldn't normally consider a leather shirt, and I'm not quite sure I can pull that off, but I really dig it. It has a nice not quite a shirt not quite a jacket look to it that I think will work in a lot of different occasions.

I've upwards of 20 or so pearl snap western shirts in my closet. Pretty much all I wear if long sleeves are called for. Over the years I've seen leather western shirts come and go through western shops I frequent and never once have considered ownership of one.......until now.

I jumped in the pool and ordered an Indigofera Hawley in dark brown suede . Fit is perfect. I had been looking at these for a couple years and finally bought one.

I tried it with a tshirt and a tank undershit. I think it works better with a tank as unlike OP's, this is a really light and buttery suede that really feels more like a shirt than a shacket.

Uhh, how should I treat this thing? Meaning product to apply to it?

Wow. Both of these look great. I’ve never considered something like this until now.

Odd because I love the overshirt concept. I have more than a few CPO type shirts, from modern repro’s by Barbour and Engineered Garments to USN vintage examples. They are super versatile, can be dressed up if needed and work in lots of temps.

I’m sure a leather over shirt would function similarly well. Thanks for sharing.

I started this thread. This Aero leather shirt (in the pictures) will be for sale soon for a ridiculous price of: $200. I wore It exactly three times over a tee-shirt. Just not getting a chance to be worn so moving it off the coat rack. Shirt never seen water; someone needs to break this in!
