3 x 60s/70s Levi's Shorthorn Western Wear

I got one of these in a medium recently, which fits a bit long both in body and sleeves. It has a 24 inch back - for some styles I can wear up to 25 - but IMO these Gap truckers fit longer than that measurement would suggest.
Length more like a "modern" trucker? I was surprised. Could be because of the wide shoulders, or the front drop is just that significant. I dunno...Worth noting for others looking for these jackets.

Anyway, of course I checked if there was a small on the interwebs. There was, and I clicked buy before double checking anything. The one in the pictures is on its way now. Leather looks similar - very nice, crinkly, lighter weight leather - but less used than the one I have...here's hoping for a great t-shirt fit

Had mine professionally shortened, they could only go an inch without throwing off the proportions but it takes it down from 25” to 24” with slightly less room in the side pockets.

@bn1966 Good call! And good to know I'm not alone in this about the Gap truckers. I don't mind a Highwayman, half belt etc touching or almost touching pants pockets, but for double riders and truckers it looks off to me.

A recent purchase of mine, a 70s Levi's orange tab split suede Type III, a model already shown somewhere in this thread; it features a 5-button closure (instead of the typical 6 of a Type III):

40s Chantiers de la Jeunesse Francaise blouson de cuir; not strictly a leather western/trucker jacket (more of a cyclist one), but a lot of details are the same (short cut, shirt collar, buttoned front and cuffs, two buttoned chest pockets, button side adjustes, back yoke):

For posterity's sake here's that Walter Dyer I snagged a few weeks back and a monster of a trucker by EWMIC (of course). I've never seen this style by them before and as usual it was made to fit a small child of the sun. Looks like buffalo to me.

Hi folks, after owning smooth leather and suede trucker jackets for a long time, I think I'd really like to try a roughout trucker. This is perhaps an apples-to-oranges comparison, but I wanted to know if anyone has any insight into how a Levi's roughout jacket from the 60's or 70's would compare to a Real Mccoys western jacket. I obviously think I'd like either, but I'm hoping to get a sense of a price-to-enjoyment ratio. I'm leaning a bit toward RMC if only because Levi's jackets are kind of pain to shop for since lots of people are inflating the price due to the name but if someone has somehow had both I would love to know your thoughts.
