year old daughter who has already assumed all my 70's trucker jackets , both black and blue denim and my 2 corduroy variants. This is a MADE IN AUSTRALIA suede trucker from the 70's perhaps.

I was in LA in February and got to try on a couple of leather trucker jackets. Of course, I had to go all matchy-matchy with my trousers. Both would look better with denim.

The first was by Best Made Company. It's made of a reasonably heavy roughout leather and is unlined. The cut was a bit boxy, but I could have tightened up the side adjusters.

The guy in the shop had the older version, which he said had darkened with wear.

The second was the RRL Suede Type II. The leather was a lot thinner than the Best Made Co, but the details were better and the cut was a lot more fitted. It was a lot more expensive, but they're on sale now (with an extra 30% off this weekend). I'd still probably get the other one, though.

Both are cool but I like the RRL more. Looks almost like canvas. I really dig it.

"Vtg 50s LEVIS STRAUS Shorthorn Leather Western Motorcycle Trucker Jacket"
Any comments on this vintage jacket? Worth the money? I've been searching for a nice vintage Trucker jacket for a while and found this one but don't know how the quality of Levi's vintage leather jackets is?

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Vtg-50s-LEV...0205f:g:n3MAAOSwP4Nc4Uxx&shqty=1&isGTR=1#shId

I'm no expert on older Levi's jackets - or any at all, outside of the ones that I've seen - but I do know that their vintage jackets (like the one in the listing) are very desirable nowadays. Shorthorn stuff is generally regarded as being of high quality and is always sought after, hence the price. The jacket in question is split suede, that's what I can tell you, that appears to be very thick, judging by the photos of the inside of the jacket. It's a beautiful jacket that appears to be in a great condition, in any case.

It's hard to give a definite answer about the quality of Levi's leather stuff, how much it varied throughout the years. Early 2k stuff that I've seen has been abysmal. Their most recently released leather trucker though is such a good jacket that I'd place it right there near the very top. It's a genuinely good jacket and they've nailed the fit like they haven't in decades.

The 90's stuff is good, too. I've had 10 or so truckers from that era and while the fit was... Well, utilitarian, so to call it, the leather and construction was fantastic.

So it all varies. But Shorthorn stuff is good.

Keep in mind that it's an ooold jacket. Stitching might turn to dust the moment you put it on.

@Monitor Many thanks for your helpful advice! If it would be half the price offered and if it would be located in Europe I would definitely give it a try...probably the risk for such an old jacket is too high even if I like this one a lot and the fit would be also quite good. "Stitching might turn to dust the moment you put it on" is my biggest concern and it would be too complicated to return it to the US....

I think the seller in question might be in Europe, actually. In Great Britain, to be precise. Regardless of what eBay says. Make sure to ask them. Don't miss out on this jacket just 'cause I said something. Maybe nothing's wrong with the jacket. These Shorthorn jackets are really nice! Look at how many people are watching it. Trucker's currently in demand, it'll only go up in price, at least for a little while.

Jacket is sadly located in the US but according to the owner in very good condition, no smells and wearable.

Very odd... They've got the exact same setup as Mint Vintage, which is located in the UK. I always assumed that they're the same seller. I mean, compare the jacket stand / mannequin for the two jackets by Mint Vintage and Classic Coats. It's literally exactly the same!

@Monitor The seller of this vintage Levi's buffalo trucker jacket is fortunately located in Europe (no additional 25% import duty+tax) but I doubt that it is really vintage (maybe 90's or so) and I'm not sure about the quality of this one?

Yep, that's a "newer" jacket. It does look nice, though! Leather seems thick. If it's really buffalo, it can't be a bad jacket. Ask the seller how much it weighs.

Thanks Man! I‘ll ask the seller! I still like the real vintage suede one better but the price is too high for me. My First Trucker jacket should be nice and special and Max 200-250€

Couldn't resist and broke my vow of chastity when I saw this trucker on SB's sale page. The tea core leather is fantastic, thick (1,4mm) and very pliable, they call it Horween Lux. Size is almost OK, except for the length (26"). Maybe a size smaller would've fit better, but it wasn't available anyway, and it might've been too snug. Here are some fit picks, along with some other ones of my Aero in a size 40 that's 2" shorter (the waist is narrower by the same length).

As awesome as the SB/3sixteen is, the Aero is an absolute 100 points double freaking underline!!!

What leather is it made in? Jerky HH?
