That's what I like about it.No, it's not super-over-the-top, but I much prefer these "more shapely" collars to the bland tiny ones we see so often.
It’s too big and boxy in me so I’ve listed it on eBayI’ll post one when it arrives as it’s still in the post and may be some time given the Postal strike. I’ve bought it as a replacement for a black Schott trucker that’s a little on the short side.
Came across this beat up old Levi’s trucker jacket on ebay. Seller is local to me in Australia, but in a small town a few hours away, so will have to wait until it arrives by post to inspect. $170AUD is about $110US, so thought I’d give it a gamble. Can’t find any other similar looking Levi’s from 70s. Any thoughts?
I’ve been watching this be listed and relisted for a while now. I’m no expert, as I continually point out, but I’m confused by the sleeves. No buttons. Any thoughts on the quality, authenticity and price (which is obviously too high or it would sell)?

I also like this dirty ol’ thing. I wonder if it can be cleaned? Anyone have experience with that? It may be too warm for what I’m thinking and vat from Japan plus washing may make the price crazy.

Now that I have the jacket in hand, it doesn’t exactly match any of the ones in the ad.
In my quest to find more info about the jacket, the closest one I found is this one on Grailed listed as a 50s Made in Australia, but it’s $3600! Surely not?!

Yes, I realised after I posted that type 3s wouldn’t have been around in the 50s! These jackets are so much fun! Yours is a beauty, as is the gentleman’s on Instagram. There’s a lot of misinformation from sellers misdating these jackets. I assumed they were 50’s when I started buying them from their listings.
But the Type 3 style jacket from Levi’s wasn’t released until 1963.
I have a similar version without the white stitching.
Levi Strauss (Australia) Pty Ltd was founded in 1968. Australia was a large manufacturing and distribution hub for around the world.
This looks like your jacket
