I consider the jackets to be a form of "concept art".

I have not yet been brave enough to wear it out in public, yet.

I think of these jackets as more 'night riding' jackets, for the enhanced visibility... Or for fashion, an after-dark type of jacket.

Due to wearing a very, uh, 'non-traditional' looking leather jacket. This is a reason I chose Hillside USA Leather, they had the Royal Purple color leather and their "gun pocket" feature was I nice touch. All the pockets are leather lined, the gun pockets lined with horsehide.

Here's the other "Dick Dastardly" and/or "Evil Jester" jacket.

This was just a coincidence... :D

If I had another made like this, I would probable choose the black naked cowhide as the base color instead of Royal Purple.

To explain the purple and red, it's really alluding to the nature of light on the visible spectrum.

The purple/violet portion represents UV <390nm light (black light) and the Red portion represents Deep Red (>660nm) light. I think anything past 730nm is considered near infrared.

So, it represents both ends of the visible light spectrum. I guess you could call that a hidden, slightly nerdy meaning.

I also thought Black and Red Leather contrasting jackets were so overdone. I wanted to create something unique, I think I accomplished that at least.
Magneto merges with M.Bison the dictator. if you dare to design it then you must dare to wear it. :D

Nickel or Brass Buttons?

I think Brass buttons would work well with that color. It looks like the leather color has a slight golden or yellowish hue to it, that the brass color should compliment it better versus the silver buttons. Just my opinion.

Since brass is mostly copper, it does have antimicrobial qualities as well. So, there's that too.

Hi guys first post here: I saw a picture on TFL possibly in this thread, of a blue shearling B3 style trucker jacket . It had heavy wear on the seams and was blue on the outside and wool shearling inside, kind of like a B3 but a trucker style jacket if you get what I mean, anyway if anyone can repost the picture of that jacket or post a link to that picture I would really appreciate it so thanks . Look forward!

I just love these! They're classic, cool, versatile, comfortable, beautiful and very forgiving size-wise. Couldn't find a similar thread so figured it's time a dedicated one got started.

So post yours! No matter if they're cheapos, no-names, etc. (like mine) - as long as you got one (or two or ten) that you love, share!

Here are some of mine. In addition to this Vanson Type-III (or Maverick, as they've named it) that you've already seen...

...I also have this made in Italy, Lee styled dreadnought that weights seven tons. It's a cool jacket. I wear it a lot.

Of all the jackets that I got, I don't think any other has seen more wear than this Wintex. German maker. They used to be really high quality. It's a great jacket in any case and more jackets I see, more I appreciate the leather it's made of.

Finally, a standard Levi's Type-III. Least cool of the bunch as it's quite long and baggy but the cowhide is gorgeous and the jacket is very well made. I gave it to a friend just a few days ago because I've got another one in the mail.

Here are 2 of my favorite Levi’s Trucker Jackets. Actually One actually is a vest.
Both vintage eBay buys. . I cut the arms off myself. These get the most wear of my truckers. More pictures upcoming.
