LOL, I gotta laugh at myself. The tag says it is leather. I guess I will find what the heck I just bought soon enough.
Still smiling. :)

Lol! Well, if it says leather, that's what it probably is. I haven't heard of washable suede... I mean, any suede is just as washable as any other leather but not... more so. Haha, I don't know, maybe it's a thing. Just that it looks exactly like the vest that I got. Figured it's the same kind of "suede".

I think it is leather, likely pigskin coated to withstand washes. Interesting shotgun purchase Jonesy.

Got pants like that. Suede pigskin that you can supposedly wash. I wear 'em from time to time during winter as they're really warm but... They do come out of the washing machine looking worse and worse. Can't imagine they'll survive many more washes.

Some really impressive leather comes out of Turkey, on the other hand. Those guys are great at tanning so it's possible this is what it's advertised as.

There's a 1960s vintage Levi's suede trucker on the bay right now, sitting at $157, and it looks great if someone is interested.

Shotgun purchase, so thats what its called. :)

Ha, what I call when you fire away without looking/aiming for a bulls eye. Not knocking it at all, I am also a bit impulsive and some of my favorite jackets were acquired in this manner. I like the jacket, hopefully you also do when it arrives.

Washable suede has been there since as early as the 40-50s I would say.

LOL. I love the term! My son in law has 2 pretty nice jackets that were way too big for me. I'm just having fun. :)

Well, I just went through all 23 pages of this thread. Now I'm pretty sure I need a leather trucker jacket. LOL

A few years back, I had this Lee Storm Rider. Great condition. Didn't wear it much so I sold it. At the time, I didn't understand the short length (hitting at the belt line). Now I wish I had kept it. But as someone said earlier in this thread, a leather version can help one avoid the "1970s all-denim leisure suit" look.

Time for you to hop back aboard.

These blanketed Lee jackets are the nicest ever. Collar and all... And you know what the best part is? McCoy made one!
