I think you can find that CXL on your own. Although sourcing the leather on your own and having your favourite maker use it might turn out more expensive in the end

My prediction, the bidding gets stupid, winner has second thoughts and cancels the order, it gets relisted and sells for half the original winning bid. I've seen it happen.

Man that's the absolute worst for a seller. I've been on the receiving end of that. It's why I hate auctions. eBay should require a blood sensing mouse be used and the bidder should have to prick their finger when they bid on something like this. No tire kickers! You must COMMIT!

Ahhhh...jeez. Just when I thought I was finally done buying custom horsehide jackets, Aero comes along and posts this Type 3 in BLACKENED BROWN VICENZA on their instagram site. Dang it! It never ends!!! Whoever bought this one...please decide it's the wrong fit so they can sell it to me!! ;-)

I can attest that this is definitely the case. I purchased 4 oz brown CXL from Horween for my first custom jacket made by Johnson Leathers. I wouldn't do it again.

That's part of it, the other part was me reinventing the wheel of leather jacket design. I sourced the leather, the lining and even some corduroy for the pockets...
Alan tried nicely to steer me away from some of my more "creative" ideas but I would not be disuaded. I ended up with a one of a kind jacket that I do not particularly like.

Looking at the picture of myself and reading your responses, I am hard-pressed to explain what it is that I don't like about this jacket. It is beautifully made, but in my minds eye I was seeing something else. I was imagining a trim fitting 30s half belt from Aero and this jacket feels more like a loose heavy car coat to me.
