Can someone help me identify this jacket. from what i saw, which was slim, it's a police motorcycle jacket. The tag says Cal-Leather jacket. It says talon on the zippers. We bought a storage at auction and were trying to sell everything but i don't know a value to start with.

It look slike what you indicate, a California Motorcycle Police jacket. Odd with the very heavy lining. I'm interested in it if you could provide some sizing details. Thank you

Cal Leathers is still in business making custom leather motorcycle jackets. They are located in Ventura, California. You can give them a call or email them, and they can probably help you identify the year, the style, the type of leather, and the pricing. Also, you can compare pricing on ebay, and other second hand markets. Prices for Cal Leathers Jackets vary depending on year, style, size, condition, and type of leather. Looks like a nice one!

That does appear to be a Cal. Most unusual with the sheepskin liner. As mentioned above the folks at Cal are still operating and could date the jacket for you. Most that I've seen/ bought/ sold go from $300-500 depending on the factors mentioned above. Very cool find!

It's a beautiful jacket. Very "Officer Bobby Hill" of Hill Street Blues! I loved that show and both his and Renko's jackets even then! It's amazing how things "imprint" on you at an early age - and look at us all here now!

I looked on eBay and some similar but without the lining or mouton(i think that's what it's called). Also I can't find the zippers anywhere. Some are chain but not with a circle it's more a diamond like shape. I'll try to call them though thank you for the suggestion. The best match is one i saw i on a post her. that's why i thought I'd register and ask the professionals. lol

I did talk to a woman at cal leathers but still waiting to hear back. Trying to not be to pushy but I'm definitely interested to find out more about it.

So the woman i was texting at cal leathers was stringing me along. She kept asking me what i planned on doing with it and she may be interested in it, which is a conflict of interest if I'm trying to value it. I asked what the value of it may be and she said that just in leather it's about fifty but again kept dragging out any details about it. I'm kind of thinking she isn't the person to talk to about this. This happened multiple times. she could repeatedly tell me she's interested but when i asked more details she got busy with a customer or she was late for a meeting and promised to text back and never did and this went on weekly because I'd end up texting her. I'm not sure if anyone knows who else i may be able to ask.

It's definitely a Cal Leather. They are great jackets. I have three, and am awaiting a fourth. Depending on age and condition, anywhere from $250-500 or so seems to be the going rate on eBay. Cal-leather.com has vintage jackets for sale around $500-800. Their new jackets go around $1500 -- it seems they're going for full-custom fit on their new sales.

With the unusual full sheepskin lining, it should command a bit higher price, I would think perhaps $100-200 more than a standard lining, but you might have to wait longer to find a buyer who wants it. It looks like it'd be exceptionally warm, not something you could wear in summer for riding in most locales. To me, that makes it more of a fashion jacket for cold weather. For the rider who does ride in cold weather, it might be just what they want tho.

You'll need to take measurements and more photos to sell it. If the zippers, snaps, and seams are intact and solid, it's in good condition. If the leather is not damaged (no holes, tears, gouges, etc.) but has a good worn-in, beat up look to it, that can add some value as well.
