I use the insole for my redwing boots, it works perfect, but I still want a boot that fits just right.

That's understandable and I completely agree.

But I found it work if push comes to shove ;)

Have you asked Aero whether it would be possible (and not financially crippling end price-wise) to knock up a size 6? I'm not a shoe/bootmaker so have no idea if it's a easy business or a difficult pain in the backside. Might be worth asking them the question though.

This idea came cross my mind many times, but I havent ask them yet...no idea why...I know I should.

I did look at their website, but I am not really like the shape of their boots.

Ah, pity. They're great stuff, untouchable for the money. I believe they made some boots for Aero before now, but I don't know where the Jarrow Boot is sourced. If what you want is a leather or dainite soled, plain boot like the Jarrow, though, there are plenty of makers around. Somebody somewhere must do a six.

Enough, isn't there someone in your life who says, "But they're all the same!" There is in mine.

I suspect there is in most fellas around here who have a "significant other opinion" in the home …! I have - and apparently a C-3, B-3, Irvin and B-6 all look the same.
But I like Enough's jackets there. Really nice.

I read it somewhere that Jarrow is made by William Lennon. What I really want is a RW beckman or RRL Bowery Boot. But these are too expensive in UK.

RRL anything is crazy money, yes. RedWings actually aren't badly priced in the UK if you compare them directly against mainstream-market footwear of a similar quality - Grenson, Barker, et cetera. But yes, an average £250 per pair still ain't cheap. Keep an eye on eBay - my Iron Rangers came new on sale for about £130 from Legend Footwear. You can sometimes find a deal like that.

Ain't that the truth! My other half buys one pair of shoes at a time and wears 'em til there are holes in the sole... if she could, she'd happily go barefoot all the time. It's a running joke between us that we defy gender stereotypes like this.

Ha, you found that deal as well? I bought my Iron Ranger from Legend Footwear for same price early this year as well. I also bought a RW9111 for £135 from another seller.

I hear you about the role reversals, Edward. Mine rolls her eyes at me all the time - and yet, just this morning, my lady is asking me what-to-wear-with-what as she's started a new job and has spent $$$$ on new clothes for the new office … and this morning, it's "boots or shoes with this dress?" And I'm giving advice on the most subtle of aspects of things and I hear myself sounding like I work in Holts or somewhere …! And then she's appreciative! ;-)

Yeah, cracking, wasn't it? Just wish I could have afforded more pairs at the time.

Isn't that always the way!

PS. And I told her to go with the shoes - 'cos it's still mild and it's Fall - and the boots look great but suggest Winter, but go with the shoes with silver buckles as they pick out the greys in the dress, the gold wouldn't go ... - Aaarrggh!! I'm at it again !!! Shoot me, someone !!

I am very fortunate to have a very understanding wife who supports (not necessarily understands) my passions. I at times don't understand my own passions, so I can't expect anyone else to.

Well., since my wife is not nearly as understanding as those for the rest of you guys, I have just 3 jackets total- but they're good ones:

3) Cooper seal goat A-2
2) G&B deerskin A-2
1) Vanson cordovan HH Enfield - it's B-E-A-UTIFUL!

This sure was a fun thread. I wonder how much everyone's top 3 has changed in a year... Here's my updated list:

1) Good Wear Bronco in russet Shinki

2) Diamond Dave Buco J-21 in black Shinki

3) Vanson Model B, black/Aero Highwayman in brown CXL

It's hard to pick between these two... They're both timeless styles, oozing sheer simplicity, excellence and versatility. I gotta call it a tie. They're both hard mistresses to tame, but once tamed, it's tough to imagine a better jacket. Trust me. I've had countless doubts about the fit on my Highwayman, but the more I keep wearing it, the more I see it's perfect.
