Trying to identify this jacket. No manufacturers name tag inside other than size and cleaning instructions, 100% leather etc. I thought maybe a FMC, First Manufacturing Company.
Agreed, I have seen several similar, if not the same, jackets on ebay. Never a mfg tag left. Looks like a heavy, reasonably decent quality Pakistani copy of a Branded Garments to me.There are so many of these that if it isn't one of the brands that matter, nobody can tell for sure. Double stitch rows around pockets and semi-exposed zipper teeth indicate Pakistan or India to me. So would fake paperclip zipper pulls.
After further forensics I have determined with some certainty this jacket is an early FMC made in Pakistan. I emailed photos to them and they could only say “that’s a darn early one” and puts it late 80’s early 90’s. It’s cowhide with brass YKK zippers. I am no expert on moto jackets but I am old and have owned and worn many leather jackets since my teen years so I have some appreciation of leather goods in general. This jacket is the thickest leather I have owned, of really good quality and has aged well. The stitching is strong and the zippers all line up and work very well at any age. It’s labeled a size 48 and at 6’1” 265 lbs it fits me pretty much exactly as I would want it to. Thanks for the input. There are so many of these that if it isn't one of the brands that matter, nobody can tell for sure.
