Lady's wallet

My ladyfriend is currently looking out for a new wallet. With her birthday looming, I was looking at this, from Saddleback Leather:

http://www.saddlebackleather.com/Small-Clutch-Wallet?sc=8&category=87

I was just wondering whether any of the ladies here have one, or might be able to suggest something similar which suits the spec? She only needs a limited number of card slots (three or four is fine), but she dies prefer to keep coins in her wallet also. Does anyone know whether this is good for coins? Or is there something similar on etsy that would do the trick? I don't mind spending a bit on something really good, like this, though I've not been impressed by the fashion-brand products I've seen. Any help very much appreciated!

I have a Lodis Mini, I believe the line's name is Audrey. The one that's red at the top of this page. It has a change purse on the back, three card slots opposite the ID slide area, and two card pockets "behind" the ID and card slots: http://www.lodis.com/fashion/shop-womens/wallets/mini

I am not sure if Lodis is making the Audrey anymore, though, although I believe the "French Purse" is a similar model, but it is a tri-fold whereas the mini Audrey I have is a bifold. I'd look anything over carefully though- the website has good pictures- since she wants a change purse.

And this one is *actually* my wallet: http://www.ebags.com/product/lodis/audrey-card-case-petite-wallet/42298?productid=674142&rlid=DETAIL_AI

The model name is "Lodis Audrey Card Case Petite Wallet."

It looks like they have wallets with larger change purses as well. I find the change purse sufficient when traveling overseas. (In the U.S., I keep my change in a separate change purse because, well, I just do. We don't have larger denomination coins like you and the E.U. do; so I don't need my change as much.)

It is honestly the nicest wallet I have ever owned- it has lasted six years and is in excellent shape. I believe Lodis is a European company, so a bonus is it fits Euros and Pounds much better than an American brand would. To be honest, American money is a slight squeeze in the wallet, but I love it so much I don't care that I have to stuff it in. (It fits, it is just always a shocker when I travel to Europe and the money *fits so much better* in my wallet while it falls out of my husband's.)

ETA: The Lodis I have is a *small* wallet. It sounds like your girlfriend would like a small wallet. It will not fit multiple cards in the card slots (except for the ones behind the ID and the credit card slots). I hate large wallets. But just to warn you, it is a *streamlined* one.

Thank-you, I'll definitely check these out now.

Yes, I've been looking at quite a few artisan pieces from the US, and quickly realise they often don't have change pockets at all. Fine for me (I long ago fell into the habit of keeping coins in a pocket), but I don't tend to wear pocketless dresses.... ;)

I've noticed a difference in shape with wallets made in different places, yes... Funny how those little local quirks have such a knock on. I do wodner if UK produced wallets will change in due course as the new plastic notes become standard (I believe they're a little slimmer, closer to the American dollar).

Yes, that sounds good; she seems to be looking for something that isn't too bulky and carries just what she needs. Thanks again for the steer on this. :)

I hope she likes it! It is very difficult to find a *small* ladies wallet, most are huge. For me, having a large wallet means I just carry around more crud I don't need.

For sure - I learned that the hard way myself. In the end, it was buying a Highwayman with no interior pockets that pushed me to look for a smaller wallet.... bought myself one of the Saddleback Leather ID Wallets and have never looked back. It's amazing how much less irrelevant bumph I collect now.

My options for colours in the lady's wallet were limited, but the blaqck exterior / red interior one combines her two favourites, so hoping that works... :)
