I won this beautiful Knox 25 on ebay advertised as a 7 1/8 (22.25"), but it's actually got a size 7 tag under the liner. From the sweatband stitching, it's early 1940's - really beautiful hat. The leather sweatband is very supple and only has the one surface crack near the embossed Knox label. As the seller mentioned, it has some stains from sweat at the front and back of the brim, next to the ribbon. Other than that, very clean and great Knox 25 quality.

I have it boxed and ready to ship back to the seller - tomorrow morning - but if anyone out there wants it for what I paid plus shipping, to cover what the seller would refund me, send me a PM tonight. I'm posting the ebay link because, as I said, it is packed and I would prefer not to unpack and take more pics.

Yes, this was a real deal in my opinion. I have two Knox Twenties that I love, and this one is in excellent condition, but older and of higher quality. I would be amazed that no one took me up on this offer, but I've seen a lot of great hats sit in the classifieds unsold, while similar hats went for a ton on ebay - something about playing that game that excites people. Oh well - sent it back to the seller yesterday.

I learned my lesson with eBay sellers when I bought a 7 1/2
that was a 7 1/8! The size label was right under the sweatband, but they never looked they just guessed. Now I always ask if I can't see the tag in the pics.:eusa_doh:

I've also been burned many times, but this seller can't really be faulted. The only sizing was on a white paper tag that was completely under the lining, and the lining was stitched in such a way that it was more difficult than normal to get to.
