"Knapp" Black Wingtips/Brogues

I've been looking to buy my first wingtips/brogues for quite a while now. I'm approximately a size 8 D in dress shoes. Been watching this pair on eBay for several months now. They appear to have been made in between the 1960's-1980's, and are in new condition. Regular price is $75 (shipping included), but right now they're at $52.50. What do you guys think?

Also, does anyone have infromation on this particular maker?

Well, for a first pair of brogues I would recommend a shade of brown (chestnut, dark, mid-brown, etc.). Much more versatile than black. Though if you're still in the market for a black pair, that pair might be fine for a first, and I do know that Knapp made some fantastic shoes in the 30s and 40s
