I would like to share some pictures I have found of one of my favorite classic film stars, Katharine Hepburn. I absolutely adore Kate because she was an individual. She dressed as she liked off screen and sometimes they took up on her look because they realized that's who she was. She has a genuine confidence in her photographs- and she is always undeniably herself. In my opinion she looks more out of place in the ruffles and fluff that Hollywood tried to put her in during her early career.

I take particular notice of the way she wore her hair- not fussy, not overdone- something you could do and not worry about being out of place:

BOSTON! LETS GO PATRIOTS!!!
Thanks for the wonderful pictures. She certainly was a vision. She had such grace and elegance, and a style and attitude all her own.
I just picked up her latest biography "Kate: The Woman Who Was Hepburn" by William J. Mann. I haven't yet started it, I'm hoping to read most of it on the plane ride to Italy. That is, if they let me on the plane with such a big book.
Well, wasn't sure if you had heard about this latest book. If you are a fan, it might be a good addition to your library.
Thanks again for all of the great pictures. She certainly was stunning!

I am very inspired by those photos, so inspired that I am going to get a Hepburn haircut. Hopefully it will be something like this photo.

Kate was cool!

I saw the Cavett interview last week. She came off as a very down to earth person. It was an impromptu interview as she and Cavett were meeting only to discuss the upcoming planned interview, which was years in the making. At one point she said, "let's just do it right now". Note the casual attire.

I love Kate, and agree with Daisy that she had a grace and elegance that was all her own. It was an earthy sort of elegance, that kind of easy natural glamour that not many can pull off.(Lauren-I can definitely see you pulling off the Kate style with much success)
Also,I think her classic loose trouser(I say loose, because her attire never looked constricted or confining, but was still tailored)and jacket combo works well for many body types, while other combos could look slovenly on anyone else.
She's proof that it's not always about what you wear, but how you wear it.There are just some women on this earth that can pretty much put on anything and still look good, because thier inner poise always shines through.
Kate was definitely one of these women!

I would kill for hair that looked like Kate Hepburn's. One of my favorite scenes in The Philadelphia Story is when she pins her hair up before going into the pool. Good luck with your haircut!

Yes, Lauren I adore her too. I have always been fascinated by her apprearance even as a child. For me she is a pretty woman and I love to wear loose trousers like her. She is just unique.
