Vintage 1877 pinch nose eye glasses. Brass spring and tortoise shell frame. Heck, for all I know, these are Offenbach's very own:

Cherry Bomb, from photographs I've looked at, I've found that typically men did not wear chains on their monocles or pince nez. Usually it's a thin ribbon or an embroidered string. Consider:

Perhaps women attached them to chains because its more decorative? Do you have any information on the subject?

Very nice! I've decided that when I need reading glasses (which may be sooner than later), that I will be getting a pair of pince nez like you have pictured. I think I'll wear them on a black satin ribbon around my neck. :)
