A friend of mine bought one of those from a store and payed 4 times as much. It's a very nice Dobbs! I believe the liner will be black. The bound edge is a nice touch. The only thing I would consider changing is the ribbon to a grosgrain, not necessarily thinner, but a tone that compliments the hat. Good buy, fronm where I stand. The felt is not as stiff as the Open Roads you find these days. I would call it moderately soft and workable.

I agree with Rusty and Dean that the ribbon might need some consideration, but really you need to see the hat for yourself before you decide about that. The picture was taken with flash, from pretty close to the lens, and that can unforgiving with fabric textures. Just look at all those famous ladies on catwalks seemingly wearing see-through clothes. Flash. Not always to be trusted.

Thanks guys! I can't wait 'till it gets here! I was kind of wondering about the ribbon as well. I wasn't sure if ti was the flash that created that effect or if it really looks like that. I am guessing that Miller Hats here in town would have replacement grosgrain ribbons should I choose to change it.

I'll keep you posted as soon as it arrives now that I know how to (sort of) post pictures.

Very decent hat at a reasonable price! And for me the 2 1/2" brim is just perfect. Goes to reinforce that you don't need to sped $150 for a good hat.

It here! It's here! Man what a neat hat. It is everything you guys said it was. The liner is black and it does have a bound edge and is a fairly soft hat, softer than the Stetson Temple I was comparing it to.

It is also NWT!!! They even left the receipt from the original purchase! With tax it was over 141 bucks! Whew! I am gonna love wearing this hat! I'll get pictures to you guys as soon as I can (am leaving out of country for a while- gotta go push some aluminum).

Yeah, the ribbon is very distinctive. I dunno, it is different. It may grow on me, it may not..... I may buy another ribbon and swap them back and forth, take pictures and take a poll from you guys.

.....All of a sudden I've got this burning desire to wear the hat, drink a few Martinis, burn a Churchill while listening to Sinatra...........
