Any idea what time it dates to?

This is a nice hat. Keep it.
metropd said:Thank you for the info! You are always very helpful FeltFan. I will put a teardrop in it. I think the proportions will suit me better than some of my previous fedoras. I went from 2 3/4 to currently wearing 2 1/2-2 5/8 brim due to Art's advice.
I was really sick and lost a lot of weight so I have been gaining it back. At my sickest point I was about 113 pounds and every hat was too big. I am doing much better now and filling myself out again.

The liner is consistent with early to mid 60's (the use of color in the medallion logo, as well as in the lettering of the logo itself, is a tipoff). If the box is original to the hat, it is also consistent with this time period. So, I would put this hat in the early 60's range.

The brim on mine is 2 1\2.metropd said:Is the felt still high quality even though it is from the late 50's or 60's?
Does the brim looks 2 1/2 to you, or is this another case of an Ebay seller being inaccurate?
Haha, don't worry - I didn't want to put in a max bid because 7 1/4 is actually one below my real head size.metropd said:Thank you. I honestly feel bad now as I know what it is like to really want a fedora on ebay and not get it. If I have any spare vintage fedoras at my parents house in a similar style I will send it to you for free. Next time I visit them I will look. I have been in your shoes many times so I know what it is like. PM if you want a specific style and give me your address. All the fedoras I wear are at my house.

Perhaps you should be flexible and give it a try? 2 3/8 is hardly that stingy, and it is an extremely nice hat.metropd said:I am very dissapointed. The brim is 2 3/8. I asked 3 times what is the brim width and it was answered 2 1/2.......to make it worse my friend said You like stingies.? I want to trade this for a hat in grey in 2 1/2 or tad more. Pm me please.
You are so right!cptjeff said:Perhaps you should be flexible and give it a try? 2 3/8 is hardly that stingy, and it is an extremely nice hat.
If you're extremely picky, ebay isn't the place to go.
