Thanks Butte. Yep the basket is huge. The bike is a "Junckers" dated 1945, build like a tank (and as heavy also...)
Sold the bike recently though and got this in stead (OT):

This is a 1974 Land Rover. As it is a "Meccano" build truck I just removed the truck cab and "shed" for a canvas hood during summer.
Will place a pic of that later. (But we're getting Off Topic right now...)
