I just got a hat, from a friend. Inside it says" cavanagh hats ney york. It looks like it's never been worn. I think it's a fedora, and has a fancy feather in the brim thing. It also has a tag inside that says" D50 OHUNTER MT color 084 slate 7 1/8 ticket # J25370 and a price $30.00 also engraved in gold on inside band is "cavanaugh" and "Bill Edwards Inc. Piqua Ohio. It came to me in a DOBBS hat box that also looks fairly new. Thanks for your help.

Based on my very limited knowledge I would say it's from 70s. My Cavanagh has a price tag of $20, and the resident Lounge experts have estimated that it dates anywhere from the 50s or 60s.
As I understand it, Cavanagh went out of business in the 70s, so it can't be later than that.
