Saw this on ebay last week, it's a pretty rare coat and more then likely a one of a kind survivor.

That price is crazy but, collectors will pay something like that for sporting good related items!

That's an interesting piece. It has a strangely modern look (even with the 1939 patch), and I had no idea that those "hoods" existed back then!

It looks like it's in better condition than the description indicates. A very cool relic. Any pictures of these hoodies being worn in the day?

Well, one way any one is going to see photos of these being worn is if they dig and look through photos from the '39 World's Fair of NY. I'm sure there are photos out there, it's just finding them.

This is a "Warm up" jacket they wore before the game. This type of sweat shirt/jacket is pretty standard of the period. They just added more color to them then the usual oatmeal gray single tone.

Sports clothing of the 30's was a little different from what we have today, not much differences other then tall waistbands and metal zippers.

I just can't believe the price it sold for! It's worth more then I thought it would fetch!
