Hello all,
This is my first official post! Just introducing myself. I've lurked around for a long time. I'm a 33 year old school teacher who, like a lot of folks around here, got interested in hats because of Dr. Jones. However since finding this site, my tastes have decidedly turned away from center creased wide brim fedoras (although I still appreciate those as well). My first hat project since coming here was turning an old "blues brothers" fedora into a nice porkpie!!
I really want to buy a Fed IV in moonstone and put a nice diamond bash in it. Deciding on whether to go deluxe or not (I know...there are loads of threads about this already with opinions swinging both ways like a set of saloon doors!!)
Anyways...jus' droppin in to say hey!

Welcome to the lounge hollowpond. I think you're on the right track. Or at the very least, with the Fed IV, you're not on the wrong one! Have fun and be sure to post some pics of your new hat.

Good morning and Hello, I'm sure that you will find a wealth of information here, but I'll throw in my two cents, the Fed IV standard is a great hat, I've only had mine for a couple of months, but it seems rather sturdy.

SInce you're ordering from Hats Direct (only place to get the fed) check out their other hats, the campdraft and the stylemaster are very popular around here, because by the time you pay to ship one hat from austrailia, it's not much more to add a 2nd hat to the order.

Around the lounge you will find lots of folks who started off with Indy and ended up with bogart...

Thanks!!! I just did the calculations on the shipping and it looks like a moonstone fed standard as well as a fawn campdraft might well be on their way!!!
