Plug ins...? ( well..... maybe) The ones you plug in an electrical outlet room deodorizer.
I use Dreft detergent for wool stuff I buy, but don't think it's gonna does the trick. I have Lysol odor eliminator, but that's harsh, but maybe just once won't hurt the wool ?

If anyone has a better way, please let me know !

There was a thread, or at least a few posts on this. Fabreeze is impossible to get out. Ozone is your best bet, but even that I think failed with the foul plug-in odor. Sorry.

sprinkled baking soda all over and letting it sit outside. Then wash in Dreft. We'll see, keep you posted.

Update.... smell is gone.
