The simple measurements including shoulder, underarm, sleeve (armhole, bicep, elbow, forearm), waist and hem should nail the fit.
But JL raised their bar to another level by starting use finished jacket as "mock up" jacket.

Cracking me up man

All I gotta say, is I offered to make modification to order for remake to be less expensive (like YKK instead of Riri) and Damon said no, we’re gonna make the new one to your original request but it’s gonna fit this time.

Jin you say sorry for terrible pics then posts a serious of incredible fits!

congrats man looks great
Thanks @Mrfrown, you know how lovely the leather is and JL knows my dimensions by now so it's easier to dial in the ideal fit. I just read they'll make a version 2.0 of your jacket which is incredibly generous. Hope to see you wearing that soon.

WOW!
That’s incredibly beautiful!
The fuzzy collar is so great that it looks kinda naked without it.
Congratulations on another winner!
These shots make me want a detachable collar for my GW, even though I have absolutely no use for it here in LA.
Fuzzy cream collar is gorgeous lol, it's a big boy mouton collar too which makes it give that extra oomph! Well just in case you travel to somewhere cold I'm thinking you wouldn't want your nape cold, right?!? Thanks @handymike

I saw the first few pics and thought ‘damn, Jin, you can sell all the rest of your jackets because you just found The One’ and then I scrolled down to the one with the mouton and my jaw dropped. Incredible!
Yes, sir this is really one of those as they say "endgame jackets". The standard collar is cool in itself but the addition of the mouton just makes it so much better! I just received the FL too and that's a glove fit as well lol it's out there

Thanks @TheDonEffect its heavier than the goatskin but the color is so much nicer. Dark coffee/espresso/dark brown whatever it is it's just one hell of a hide. Horween should market the crap out of this cause other people can already advertise CXL

Beautiful jacket Jin! I love the waist details along the hem with the side adjusters and the belt loop and snap at the zipper. So cool.
Thanks @marker2037 its really a nice take on the French cyclist/ostmann jacket. The riris are so awesome too, the sound it makes when zipping/unzipping is satisfying! Hope you received your FL too, my jacket is also a glove fit!

It seems like to get bespoke right, a second fitting jacket is needed. It would add cost up front but no surprise when leather is cut and sewn.
perfection. Now when I google search Johnson leathers these photos will show up…. Like when I google aero it shows ton312 photos…
In my case this is my 4th project with them so it got real expensive to get here lol
I hope so, maybe I should make a dedicated to this leather. I feel it deserves one

Perfection!
Thanks man! You're up next my friend!

that is one nice jacket man…. JL should add this to their regular line up as m-###…. I’m sure people will be asking for it after seeing your photos… I know I am…. Haha…

Thanks @Canuck Panda, I could have bought the Eastman version but I won't be able to get that jacket in the leather I wanted, get a glove fit, it would not have the mouton collar and it would have been too long for me so custom route it is lol

Great jacket, great fit as usual. Congratulations

Thanks @MrProper, I'm glad it worked out!

what's the weight of the jacket without mouton collar? Probably gonna buy this leather and send it to 5star, 1/3 cost of Johnson leather.

haha…. I already lined up for a stock m500 in deerskin I drop shipped them like 2 weeks ago. But this Luftwaffe / dominator highwayman is on the list. I am hoping JL make this into their regular line up so I can save that 200 bucks by not going full on custom.

this jacket needs a good marketing name…

vermont comes in All different weights 2/3 and 3/4 oz… And once in a blue moon u can get a large stiff 4/5 oz single horse front one off…
Sorry but I bought the last two 3/4 oz horse fronts and Shawn would have it soon…. The prices of Vermont is good too…. Super soft even at 3/4 oz…. Very underrated leather IMO…

I think u did better by going JL instead of Eastman, especially if u don’t plan to resale it soon. I would’ve done the same. JL is actually a really good deal for Made in USA. They just more laid back, west coast style.

If my method of weighing the jacket using one of those baggage weighing scale is to be trusted then it's 3.8 pounds without the mouton collar. It does have a midweight wool tartan lining and satin sleeves for whatever that's worth in terms of weight.

Man, that's a beautiful leather Jin.
Thanks man! I don't know but maybe one of Horween' s finest

It's cool of JL to agree to make this jacket for me and if they make it a standard pattern then that would be nice to see other people wearing too.

No, not re-selling this one lol it's everything I like in a leather jacket. Straight zip/4 pocket front/big collar/detachable mouton collar/1 piece back with side adjusters/dark brown midweight veg tanned leather/zipper closure on the inside sleeve panel and with my preferred ideal fit. Also the fact that their local and have been always been very good and kind to me makes me gravitate towards them.

I hate to be the ‘I’ll have what he’s having’ guy, but this has me seriously thinking my next jacket may be a black Ostman from JL. @Jin431 i will tell them that you deserve a commission!
To an extent we are all that guy @JustinW lol that's why this is a great community, lots of great members with awesome jackets!

Also you are already familiar with JL and they have the pattern from your previous project with them. So this black Cyclist jacket will have an even better fit for sure!

"French Cyclist Jacket" please...Ostman is a made up name by Eastman.
Maybe it's one of those times when a company wants to be PC they had to change the product's name and Yes I read on here that that's the actual term for this style of jackets

Jin hits another homerun! Seriously, might as well start a JL x Jin431 collab line, lol.
Thanks man that would be hilarious lol but hope to see another button up build in the future

Is the Vermont stiff?
Like what @Mrfrown mentioned, not stiff at all. To me it reminds me of maybe a naked cowhide/heavy deerskin, not the spongy outside texture but the way it feels when you wear it and it feels like you are being cocooned nicely. I've only had it for a few days but i feel this will not crease/roll much/shorten much in the sleeves. I would say it's definitely softer/less stiff than Vicenza/Shinki/Badalassi/Masaye.

The SF Cyclist Jacket :)
That's an awesome term! SF cyclist jacket!
