In my experience, zipper pulls can be changed...

I was actually wondering that same exact thing. How hard would it be to just change the pull? Would it be easier to change the slider AND pull?

How hard is it to change a pull on a pocket zip? I have a cross zip jacket and the zipper pulls are generic, run of the mill, YKK. I am thinking a nice "bell" shape pull would look so much nicer.

Riri seems to have changeable puller, other zipper usually either you break the link of the puller, replace it with a small D ring and add leather strip, or you carefully open the clip on one side of the track the side where the slider hangs when the jacket open and run the slider up until it leaves the tape, replace with another slider.

Here is my slider with clipped off puller and replaced with small d ring and leather pull

And some clip style pull, you can actually slide it in like a key chain ring. Replacing chest pocket slider would be difficult especially if your track has that

round metal bumper stopper, if the track is just ongoing track it is easier but still you have to make access from the lining either from inside pocket bag, or on the side near the armpit, break open few stitches so the slider can run off rail, something I dont dare to DIY, much easier to just clip off the puller and replace it with something.

Yes! The battle axe is cool :)

From time to time I search the web for a really cool zipper pull. It's hard to find a really good one. Most look really cheap and cheesy, especially the way the attach to the zipper. Usually a big gaudy clip that is bigger than the ornament itself.

A while back, I had the perfect main zipper pull. It was an awesome, highly detailed, solid, HEAVY, supposedly gold plated skull. The company had 3 options to choose from, a skull, cool hog head, and an evil joker face. I can't remember the company name and I believe they went out of business. I think I paid around $30-$35 for it.

That's very reasonable.

I am tempted to comission my own batch of zipper pull for use for future projects :)

no.14 zipper will not be use due to the tape of the zipper is too narrow, consequently zipper will abrade with leather.....

The supplier does not even know the purpose of the #14 zipper and sold it to me, it is supposed to use on luggage not jacket.

Hmmmm. If it was made for luggage it seems unlikely that it would be an open end zipper. Every bag or suitcase I have ever owned used a closed end zipper.

The overdye goes to light brown extremely fast. I’ve had 3 jackets in it. One from Nick, one from Terry and my own (now HH’s). Within a few weeks of wear the seemingly black jacket looked like this,

maybe 1 month with fairly regular wear:

you are not wrong, while sleeves turn into brownish, the front and back panel is still black/blue, very interesting.
