Correct. Rutherford was a light-hearted, entertaining Miss Marple, but believable. And Joan Hickson was the definitive Miss Marple, probably as close to how Christie wrote the part as possible.The only Miss Marples worth their salt were Margaret Rutherford and Joan Hickson.
Jennifer Garner? That's about as believable as seeing Julie Andrews, Florence Henderson, and Mother Theresa stirring a cauldron when the curtain goes up in Macbeth.
Now, Margaret Thatcher would be perfect for the part.
