From what I can tell, Jubilee no longer is in business. They did, however make some AMAZING stuff! They show up on Ebay from time to time.

We can custom make any shoe based on your designs, copy an old ad you've seen, or replicate a shoe from a film or photo. E-mail or PM me for details.

Kind regards,
Magnoli

As far as I am aware, Rickson just makes the (excellent and horridly pricey) reproduction of the Army Air Forces low quarter officer's shoe.

The dearly departed hep cat magazine Continental Restyling did an article on Jubilee that included many pics. It was issue #45 which was also their final issue.

Yes, but were the shoes 'authentic' enough for you to wear while you were lying drunk in the gutter, missing out on seeing the three bands you were supposed to review for the magazine (Continental Re-styling)? lol

HAHAHAHA!!! Wow, yes, only folks who read that mag will get that reference!!
The cat who ran the mag would also write most of the show reviews, and then would always explain that he was too drunk to remember what he saw!!

Yeah, think it was a french cat Jerry Desvaux ( or something like that). He now runs a Hot Rod mag. Pitty that Restyling is not around anymore, their usage of the word "desperate" was unbelieveable. If you were hep you had to be desperate.... As far as jubilee shoes go there is a japanese cat on ebay who every month or so sells a pair or two, they look new and are usually in bigger sizes, from 9 upwards. There is nearly always a BIN price of around 150 USD. Also try Violet promotions in the Uk. They sell mostly teddy boy stuff but they have a fairly good range of 50s style shoes. Well worth checking out.

Are you familiar with Colin Johnson?

http://www.johnsonshoes.com/

I've heard excellent things about this man (and he makes vegan shoes too, if that is your thing). Prices are good too.

Thanks everyone for all the replies and links (quite like those lonewolf boots) and the memories of continental restyling magazine - a great magazine at the time and the editor Jerry who wether you agreed or not with his views you can not knock him for his passion and enthusiasm which was 150%.
I have now ordered a pair of custom shoes from Indy, can't wait to get them.

I have to ask Indy...how long till we can get a pair of WWII Officer's Low Quarters from you? I'd bet you'd give Buzz Rickson a run for their money...at half price! ;)
