About 10 years ago, my good friend Janine started buying deadstock (never worn) vintage shoes from the Re-Mix shoe store in L.A.

Back then, Re-Mix didn't make repro shoes: its entire inventory was original, deadstock women's and men's footwear from the '20s-'60s, with a special emphasis on the '30s and '40s.

Nearly all of Janine's shoes below were purchased from Re-Mix. They're from the 1920s, '30s and '40s. Enjoy!

Those are great! I recently got really lucky and got a pair of deadstock 30's (or maybe earlier, I'm not quite sure) crocodile (or alligator?) lace-up heels for $12. The reason why they were marked so cheap was because they thought no one would fit into them! I've got ridiculously narrow feet.

sigh. I wish modern shoemakers would take a few pges from the stylebooks of yesteryear. The stuff they put out these days is mostly junk. Sigh....I need more shoes Those are all so gorgeous they make me want to go shopping!

I have noticed, that particulary this seasons shoes are far more vintage styled. There are alot more with chunky heels and rounded toe, opposed to the horrible pointed things!! There are even some lace up shoes around! Obviously they arn't as nice as the originals , but its a start!
