Jackets with quilted lining in body AND sleeves

Do you have any? Is it working out? Good for winter I suppose, but does it look like Michelin Man? I am considering relining a jacket and thought about it as an option. Looking for thoughts/examples.
PS - sleeves are wide enough to accommodate quilt. Right now quilt is only on the body.

I was just having this conversation tonight. I'm wearing this original Windward tonight. It has a new quilt lining that also includes the sleeves. This is true to the originals I have seen and the same as the Eastman Windward I owned. It makes for a down jacket feel, but not bad on this jacket. Combined with the heavy leather this Windward is a Foul Weather Beast in the same league as my Lost World Test. The Windward was built for this and it works on the jacket. The gathered sides really help in this application. Makes it very snug and comfortable, with a heavy hide.

It will probably straighten some folds and creases at first but after awhile the quilted lining will compress in some parts and the puffiness will fade. If I were you, I would go for it.

I have a CR with quilted lining in the body and sleeves. It fits rather slim and the lining doesn't add any extra puffiness. It does add warmth, so it will determine what you intend to use the jacket for. I don't recommend it for walking.

It is pretty warm though, quilted arms definitely add a lot to overall warmth.

Terry, I put quilted lining in the body and arms of the Sears Herc I bought from you some time ago. It works for that jacket as well.

My Vanson model "E", and Johnson leather have the quilted lining in the sleeves. My Schott 618 does not. I don't think it makes a huge difference, myself, in regards to warmth. I guess I would rather have it than not. Both quilt linings I have are rather thin and I don't believe it makes the jacket puff out. I would recommend quilted lining throughout.

My J23 only has quilted lining in the body, not the sleeves.

My Schott 689H had full quilted lining and was not puffy whatsoever. It had a thin quilted lining and that made the jacket stiff when new and took about 2 years to break in. If it wasn't a size too large I'd still be using it as my winter jacket up here in Canada. I run hot so it served me quite well up here for 12 winters and I'd like to grab another again next time they have a sale in a size that fits me better.

I guess it all comes down to how thick of quilting you want to use since it is available in different material and thickness.

if anyone looks at this Schott take note that Schott's recommendation is to size up is a very bad suggestion on their part, hence mine being too large. Order your regular size.

What a great jacket you have here! This is very close to what I want. Quilted lining throughout, slim fit and a thick heavy leather. Definitely loving this fit!

Walter Dyer has it. It has no effect on the way the sleeves crease. The lining is never very thick & being basically foam, it is flexible.

eBay has lots of photos of vintage, well used & broken-in jackets that have a full quilted lining (body & sleeves) from makers like LL Bean, Sears Leather Shop, Cooper, etc, and sleeve creasing looks similar to jackets with single-layer non-quilted linings.
The quilted lining even gives the lightweight, thinner goatskin jackets a more robust, heavy duty appearance.

The s Walter dryer is quilted throughout and makes for a perfect cold weather utility jacket. The quilt has no impact on sleeves creases or how the jacket breaks in. Actually makes the jacket an ideal choice for when it’s too cold for most leathers. This thing wears like a fortress. Interestingly enough, I can wear it up to about 50-60 degrees before it feels too warm.

Same with all my Vanson model E’s. They were all quilted through and the fit was not effected at all. Quilted nylon is my favorite type of liner.

Quilted lining doesn't necessarily mean bulky (in fact, I'd say I've never had a bulky quilted lining, actually). Here's a good example: A guy on Style Forum who lives in Texas sent his Perfecto to Schott to have the quilted lining replaced with cloth and the resulting jacket fit exactly as before. He said the quilted liner is tucked in tight like a plain fabric lining would be, so it has minimal bulk.

My most worn jacket in high school, including in the winter, was a waxed cotton Barbour with quilted body and sleeve lining. I still have it and wear it. No puffiness whatsoever.
