Jacket ID?

howdy everyone,
i've poked around and can't get specific ... seems to be a police issue jacket no? i'm thinking something from NYC area judging by the "honda of mineola" patch.

If it doesn't have shield shaped stitch holes on one or both shoulders then it wasn't a police issued jacket.
Style wise, it's just one of the many variations of police jackets, Vanson and Schott made some, Taylors as well, as did many other brands. They have slight variations depending on who made them, when they were made and for which police force.
I read that Schott stopped selling them to the public in 90s i think as they were worried people would use them to impersonate police officers.

Here is my 70s Schott version, these were actually sold to police forces for years, not sure if Honda also did so or if it is just a fashion version. Either way it looks pretty cool.
