"Sir?"

"Yes?"

"Your luggage, Sir. It's quite overweight."

(sheepishly) "Oh?"

"Yes. I'm afriad you'll have to pay the overage fee."

"Well, how much can that be?"

"$400 Sir. You can pay by credit card now and I'll release your luggage for loading."

Thanks for the link. The straight cut might work better on my somewhat tubular frame.lol

Luckily it looks like the Spanish Linen Jacket isn't a huge hit, and they still have my size, so I have time to decide whether or not to buy it and also to see if it is priced down even more.

Well, the Peterman sale was just too good to pass up (I'm a fan, for the record - I have four Peterman shirts that I just love; a blue & white wide-striped linen shirt, a similar green & white, a bright blue old-fashioned polo with the deep front vent & lots-o-buttons, and a deep blue collarless pullover shirt in fustian), so I ordered the pigment-dyed suit. I can wear a 48 jacket pretty well, and Peterman's stuff usually runs a little big, so I think I'm good there, and of course the pants were available in plenty of sizes.

From Hem's pics, I know it'll look good with my Panama, and I also think it will look good with my Federation. Can't wait to get it.

Looks like you got the last 48 jacket, Kevin. Oh well, you snooze, you lose. 48 is still too small for me, but I'm getting closer.

Wow - sure enough, trying to add a pigment-dyed jacket in 48 reports out-of-stock. I really must have gotten the last one - I ordered it at about 12:45 AM. Sorry about that, Tony!

Well, they'd better get cracking or they'll end up with nothing to sell. I ended up buying a J. Peterman Shirt and a Linen Eurostyle shirt, both in white, size XXL. I hope they fit.

The J. Peterman Shirt is the one I have in blue. I like it a lot - tried to order one in white when I got the suit, but XL in white was sold out.

It's here! A few quickie shots - I just took it out of the shipping box and put it on, so it's not completely wrinkle-free, and some turned out sorta blurry, but this'll do for now. Finished it off with one of my '40s ties and my Federation. Forgive the faux-menacing look in a couple of shots :) All but the first are in the mirror:

Also picked up the "dress khakis," the ones that go by the "Officer and a Gentleman Pants" title. I'm very pleasantly surprised by these - they have a decently high waist (come up high on the navel, at least on me), and have very little taper in the legs (almost none, really - I remember a thread where somebody was bemoaning the tapered legs of today's khakis). Very glad I picked them up!

Lookin' good, Kevin!

My two shirts showed up today (well, yesterday as I write this) and the fit fine. Funny how Peterman won't offer jackets or trousers that are big enough for me, but they do offer shirts.

Bravo Kevin,

That is a good look for you. Well done!

Interesting stylistic choice buttoning the bottom button.

The "Officer and a Gentleman" pants look nice as well. I may actually get a pair of these.

Well, I'd usually probably wear it middle-button-only, but I think it looks good several ways. It's quite the versatile suit. I loved how it looked with my Fed, and later yesterday evening I wore it tieless with my Panama while out looking at some ranch land for my mom, and loved that look too.

The OaaG pants really impressed me. They're pretty high-waisted - I wish the pigment dyed pants were as tall - and feel nice. They feel substantial and durable. I'm wearing them right now, along with a light green & white striped Peterman linen shirt for work. I think they're definitely the best khakis I've picked up in a long time. Was getting tired of all that leg taper.

Just called. No pants left but they do have a few jackets in sizes 40, 42, 44, & 46 left if anyone needs ones. They are $54.
