I just watched The Divorcee and Free Soul, both starring Norma Shearer. They both make reference to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Shearer played Juliet in a movie adaptation years after those movies.
In fact Leslie Howard, her Romeo in the film, costars in Free Soul.

Bright star

I love the radio show Norma did in the 40's with Fred Mc Murrey, she is the head of a newspaper and Fred is a reporter, on a newspaer called "Bright star" fond memories

Norma called out to me from beyond the grave...

It's true. Lady Day was there to witness it. I must dig out the photo, but when I was in Hollywood last year, I found her dear little palm prints in the walk way (you know all those famous foot and hand prints). Well hers just fit into mine perfectly, like we were made for each other Yes folks...I could feel that Norma wanted to keep hold of my hand and waltz me down the Boulevard to Musso & Franks for a cocktail..or two. What a honey!!
