looks mid 50s in cut, but could be a later throw-back.

the chest size and shoulder width don't add up though.

all im picking up is 70s labels but nothing with the ornate F.

Still its interesting I wanted it but like you say the measurements dont add up and if its right Its to big for myself

probably late 70s / early 80s does mid 50s going by the label you posted (i can't see the label when i view the etsy listing... not sure why, maybe a UK thing ?)

could be worth buying for cap fabric !

I like it with those pleats. But I haven't seen 50s Coats with Pleats, on rare occasion with belted backs but never with front pleats.

i've seen 50s Hollywood / tropical jackets with pleats along the front yoke, but sports coats... no, but i can imagine it.

Yes that's the only place they appeared in the 50s.
the leisure wear gathering I know about but never pleating like that.
