Also, I agree with LordBest on the Plus Fours. However, one day when I order my dream Bookster tweed suit, I will get matching plus fours with it.

There's really nothing I won't wear for fear of other's reactions, but in a big city it's easier to get away with more. If I want to wear something that would be really unusual for every day, or draw too much attention, I'll usually save it for a costume party or Halloween. I guess I just don't like talking to strangers about my outfit (or much else...)

I have a tall one, I am allowed to wear it on archaeological digs and in the tropics, but my family will disown me if I wear it in town.

The cutaway morning coat probably looks fabulous on you Our vintage dealer Roberto has apparently worn one to our Art Deco Society's Gatsby Summer Afternoon.

Yeah, that's the problem. I think it's a great looking coat, but it's TOO dated. I couldn't match it with any outfit less than a couple hundred years old.

A friend wears one in black frequently, but he's also known as a bit of an eccentric, but totally fearless about what he wears. He'll show up to house manage or usher in amazing Asian-styled embroidered silk shirts or jackets, and I'm sure with the next show (Guys & Dolls) he'll no-doubt give me a run for my money in the fedora & pinstripe department. His wife says she makes him tone it down a bit at the theater, which considering what he wears, intrigues me.

But I agree - this is going to be, with not a doubt in my mind, one of the all-time greatest threads in Lounge history.

Tweed jackets. For some reason I find that I can get away with vintage looking suits which are blue, grey, black or pinstripe but not tweeds. Possibly because they are associated with old people in England, whereas other vintage suits (like pinstripe) are not because they aren't usually worn by older people.

And as SP mentioned, capes. I have one black wool cape with a red lining which I originally bought at an antiques fair to look like Dracula. So far I've only managed to wear it at Hallowe'en with a black suit, as it just is too costumey for any other occaision I am likely to attend.

Today in Town, I spotted a Black Fez with the brightest orange tassel you ever did see. I asked the lady in the shop if the colouring had any significance but she "Thought not" I could wear it with the new black suit I have ordered, but probably wont, I may buy it, purely to decorate my study.

Nah, there's nothing I wouldn't wear. I think it's funny most of the time (the tacky stuff I wear!). But here in Philly no one even gives you a second look, unless they LIKE it!
