Is Simmons Bilt still open?

I've been trying to get in touch with Simmons Bilt to see if they had any deerskin in stock and maybe order some other samples but didn't get a reply to my email, which is unusual as they are normally very good at replying, does anyone know if they're still operating during the lock-down?

I've had a few exchanges with Deb at Simmons Bilt over the past 3 weeks. They're open, but the responses have been slow and inconsistent. Keep trying--you'll eventually get a response.

Debs had to take some time off in April, so they might be behind in answering emails. I was in the process of ordering a jacket from them, but my last e-mails (from late April and early May) weren't answered and I won't be sending them another email. About to give up as well..

These are peculiar times and Britain has been struck extremely hard by this virus both in death tolls and sanctions against businesses from the government. There could be both personal reasons and complications with access to their business that makes communication problematic. I know this from my own place of business.

Thank you for letting me know. Being on the outside looking in, it certainly is difficult to gain an understanding of how this pandemic has affected different countries. I am located in Germany and things here are moving along again, albeit with certain measures to slow the spread of the virus. Thus, my reality may be very different in comparison to where others are located. I will try to be more patient!

Yeah, we closed down operation completely for 6 weeks and the situation has been extremely problematic as people had unfulfilled orders and a lot of my customers don't communicate through e-mail and over facebook. That said, the biggest problem has been my own frustration being unable to reach people and communicate, as people have been extremely patient and understanding through this.

I had a email from Debs around 5 weeks ago at that stage they were "closed" until their government gives them the ok to reopen again, same situation as Aero and many other business in that part of the world.

This is correct. I received an E-Mail from Debs this morning confirming this. The good news is they are all healthy!

For anyone outside the UK not aware, Scotland's coronavirus restrictions have been fairly stringent due to the potential impact on the Highlands and Islands and its taken a toll across various Scottish industries, however the restrictions have been effective and things should get back to some semblance of normality soon.

Anyone know if they are back in business now?

I have been meaning to place an order, but they are really slow to answer any e-mails since April/May and there are still a few things I need to clarify with them. Any hope things will get better any time soon or should I just drop it and contact Aero instead?
