W&G is mostly dead - LandsEnd/Sears/KMart Gave moral wound

Once or Twice a year the LE/Sears/Kmart Zipheads bring out one or two pieces typically they appear in no catalog but online ... sometimes a tweed hunting coat or twill pants or a hunting shirt. I have lost hope in the rebirth of this famous brand under this ownership. Just when I has losing faith I discovered this link/company. I can afford nothing in the catalog but from my back issues of the LE Willis and Geiger Catalogs this company produces much of the famous items ... the rest often appear in the catalogs of Orvis.

Here is the link: http://jlpowellusa.com/index.html

Hope this makes someone else happy

2 Willis & Geiger Jackets for sale

Hello All,
I am new here and I wanted to see if anyone was interested in 2 Willis & Geiger jackets. Both are XL. The Hemingway has the blue tags and “Made in USA”. The summer bomber (I think) has the red tags and “Made in India”. Both were my late father’s. He was infamous for buying jackets and wearing them once or twice, putting them away and forgetting about them. I took these out of storage and they look brand new. These seem to run big as I am a 44 Long and they are huge on me. I am a W&G fan; however I won’t enjoy them so, I want someone else to. If they don’t sell, I plan to put them on EBay in the fall. I can ship anywhere and I can take PayPal (preferred).
Hemingway-$250
Bomber-$225

All the Best!

Hmmm ...

Has anybody tried Tag Safari (http://www.tagsafari.com/default.aspx)? I know nothing about them that isn't on their Website, but they seem pretty legit (they advertise that the gear is made in Zimbabwe) and the prices aren't bad at all.

I'll second the earlier endorsement of Cabela's safari jackets. I own one that I wear all the time (in rural Arizona). It was a deal -- and very practical.

I've bought several things from Tag Safari. They're all still too new to comment on how well they'll last but no complaints so far. They do occasionally have sales by the way, but possibly only to previous customers, so you might want to try one less expensive item and then hold out for other things you want.

I miss 'em, too. I wanted one of their canvas rucksacks, and when they went out of business the rucksacks were going for around $70 or $80. I ddn't get one since I was in grad school at the time and a little on the poor side. :eusa_doh: Now they go for around $300 on e-bay! That's what I really want them to bring back!

I wish I would have known that. I was in a Play it Again Sports and saw one a while ago. I think it was gone the last time I went in. [huh]
