Steel core 7.62X49 rounds do have a lot of punch power, the steel core looks like a slim roller beaaring to me, and i also have used it on some metal plates and such.

I recall from my USMC training in 1966 that we were told that the AK 47 round was designed slightly larger, so that they could use our ammunition, but we couldn't use theirs.Dan G said:7.62x39... two more millimeters and you'd have a 7.62 NATO!!!lol
