I know this is outside the so-called 'golden era', but I think there is something quite distinctive about this suit. The waistcoat is a delight. I have always been a fan of the 'lighter coloured waistcoat worn with a dark coat' look. The whole suit makes me think of Dirk Bogarde in the 1960s when he stopped playing fluffy, comedy roles and began doing darker work (The Servant etc).

I can't imagine this going for a high price since it's not 'mod' enough for most sixites devotees - it's more of a mature, but stylish, man's suit.
