Fit check on a B3 I just tried

Turns out the Eastman B3 is not as unweildly heavy as I suspected. Beautiful piece. How does the fit look?

It took a bit of work to move arms and shoulders. Does this eventually subside or does it always remain like this?

Apparently the original owner has only worn it a handful of times in the last 5 years.

Would you say Eastman’s normal ANJ4 is more or less difficult to move in? ;)

For my taste it is a bit long on the body.
I’d agree. I generally need larger sized tops than others my height I guess because of shoulders/back. Invariably the arms are too long and the jacket is too long in the body. I’m 177 cm and this was a 44

Looks great! The sleeves are also shearling on the inside that may be why you're feeling a little snug. They should flatten out and condense a little with wears and give you a bit more ease and room on the inside.

I like the sleeves.
And it's not that the jacket is unwearable. Most people wouldn't even notice that it's on the longer side. And many people like it that way anyway. In fact, having a little more length in winter is not a disadvantage at all.

Then you may have to consider the cut and pattern of a B-6. That beautiful Eastman B-3 is within the original pattern. They were design to protect the owner from the harsh elements of sub zero temp way up there in the skies.

I prefer the lighter cut of a B-6's personally.

Agreed on both points.

I think the ANJ4 might be a better fit for my shape being that its a more "regular" shaped jacket somewhat similar to the overall shape of the b6

Agreed and a fine jacket it is! Very stylish design with big pockets and multi panels, you can't go wrong.
