Inquiring strangers about their hats.

In Iowa, I haven't seen many people wearing fedoras. Well recently I have seen about three older gents wearing them. Two of them were kind of like an Open Road style I'd say, and the other was a nice looking all black fedora.

I asked one of the men with the Open Road like hat what kind it was? It was a tanish color. Well he didn't even know. He flipped it over and showed the inside which had some 100% wool made in USA print on it. I didn't catch a brand because it was a quick glance. The guy said he acquired it in Branson, Missouri, which was ironic because I've been there quite a few times. It's kind of like an annual vacation spot. So that was that.

I asked the fellow with the black fedora what brand his hat was? I said I'd been looking into them recently. He didn't know. Flipped it over to reveal the same sort of label that the previous guy had shown me. Still couldn't catch a brand name though.

Kind of an uninteresting post I know, but I found it interesting that these men didn't really care much about the hat, other than how it looked on their head. They had no knowledge whatsoever of what was on their head.

Are any of you like these men? If the shoe fits, wear it, no other knowledge necessary?
