Info on Leather Jacket Maker Brand Garuda

the jacket doesn't look like a vintage repro, it looks like it is only been worn twice.
maybe the 1955 thing is the year the company owner was born

since you mention Indonesia, and Indonesian national crest is garuda, are you sure it is not something local?

It is a repro by a Japanese maker and really not that old. Probably 90s or 00s. IMO they made the wrong choice of leather and that's probably why there were so few produced. If you look at some of the photos, the leather and the dye coating looks like those used on old briefcases. Too rigid to be used on jackets. You can see cracks at areas where the leather has to be folded. The dye coating also makes it very hard for oil to be absorbed.

Just took a look at those links. It’s especially noticeable on the first links photos. Around the neck and sleeves. Not the cool kind of teacore or fading it’s legit chipping and breaking. That’s really a shame because the design is A-Plus and the stitching from what you can see ain’t bad either.
